The Waypost
Every road out of the valley passes a waypost. This one answers questions — plainly, and in order.
What you can do today
Frayed Scion is an MMORPG in development. There is nothing to download yet — the gates open when the world is ready, and not before. Until then:
- Walk the world — the Long Stair is explorable, six named places and one that is not.
- Meet the peoples — three to choose from. Not beasts, not costumes. Ask what they are; no two agree.
- Sit at the fire — the Discord is where the conversation lives.
- Follow the build — The Notice Post records what stands, and the Discord hears it first.
When a first public night is announced, it will be announced in the Discord before anywhere else, and this page will grow a "how to join" section that means it.
Asked often enough to write down
What is Frayed Scion? An MMORPG — one persistent world, built in the open by one maker. A warm, salvage-built world of three peoples, and something cold in the deep that is taking the lamps. It is being made to be lived in, not passed through.
When can I play? Is there a release date? No date, and we will not invent one. The Notice Post is public and honest; when a first test night exists, the Discord hears first. Anything on this site that looked like a countdown would be a lie, so there is not one.
What platform will it run on? It is being built and tested on Windows PC. Nothing beyond that is promised, because nothing beyond that is true yet.
What will it cost? Will there be a shop? Pricing is not settled, so we won't pretend it is. One thing is settled, and it is a law rather than a promise: nothing sold will ever win a fight. Anything paid exists for status and support only — never advantage, never power, never a faster mount than the one you earned. This game exists as a reaction against games hollowed out by their own shops; the law is the reason it exists, not a bullet point.
Who are the three peoples? The Rah'nas, who came up from the water; the Tigerian, highland-born and patient; and the Zu'bat, who hear you long before they see you. People — never beasts, never costumes.
What is taking the lamps? That is the wrong question to ask a waypost. The Signal holds everything that is known, which is not much, and is not comfortable.
What are the system requirements? Not published yet — they would only be guesses this early. Real numbers will be posted here before the first public test night.
Can I stream it, make videos, write about it? The intent is yes, and generously — this world is being built in the open, and people talking about it is the point. A written fan-content policy will be posted here before the first public night so nobody has to guess at the edges.
Is there a beta sign-up? Not a separate one. The Discord is the door; test invitations will start there. A letter you can ask for will exist later — this site doesn't collect addresses yet, and says so rather than pretending.
Accounts and sign-in
There are no game accounts yet. Nothing on this site asks you to register, and nothing should — if a page claiming to be Frayed Scion asks for a password today, it is not ours.
When test nights open, account creation and sign-in will live here. Three things will be true of it from the first day:
- No one working on this game will ever ask for your password. Not in the Discord, not in a whisper, not "to fix something".
- Account recovery will go through this site only.
- Whatever this site remembers about you lives in your own browser, not on any server — see what this site keeps, on the legal page.
The Fire Code
Rules of conduct
Draft — the final code is posted when the world goes live. The shape of it will not change.
- Come as you are. Every banner, every background, every accent at the fire. Harassment, hate and cruelty put you out of the circle — first and finally.
- Argue the idea, not the person. Sharp disagreement is welcome; teeth are not.
- Mark your spoilers. Some people want to find the still water themselves. Let them.
- No cheating, no exploits kept quiet. Found a crack? Say so in the Discord and be thanked for it. Use it quietly and be gone.
- No real-money trading. Accounts, gold, items — not bought, not sold. The same law that keeps the shop honest keeps the black market shut.
- The keepers keep the fire. Moderators’ calls stand in the moment; genuine grievances are read.

- Something broken? Say so in the Discord — three lines: what you did, what happened, what you expected.
- A question this page doesn't answer? Ask in the Discord — the maker reads it daily.
- Account or private matters? There are no accounts yet, so there is nothing private to hold. A support address arrives with them, and will be posted here.
- Press or creator enquiries? Ask in the Discord and say so plainly — the maker answers. A direct address goes here at launch.
Server status will be shown here when there are servers whose status could concern you. That day is not today, and we look forward to it.
